The Innovation Centre was designed to act as both the administrative hub of UUSRP Ltd on the new Science Park site and as a home for start up companies specialising in IT and bioscience. 

The building comprises three distinct elements with a landlord core providing an administrative centre together with meeting rooms and dining facilities. The lettable space for tenants is split between IT use designed in an open plan wing capable of expansion and a bioscience wing comprising a spine of shared facilities such as cold rooms, equipment stores, dark room, freezers etc and lettable laboratory space.

This building won the RSUA Innovation in Building Design award in 2002.
