The Sports Institute for Northern Ireland is designed to provide training facilities both indoor in the High Performance Centre and outdoor for elite athletes. 

Core to these facilities is the provision of a 60m indoor sprint track together with throws, jumps and pole vault areas with a 60 × 40m synthetic indoor training hall to be used by elite rugby, gaelic and soccer players. 

Complementary to these facilities is the provision of Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning Suite and Changing Accommodation, offices and social areas. Externally a floodlit synthetic hockey pitch was provided together with a synthetic 100m sprint track.
