Overview:

Location: Belfast

This project involves the delivery of new facilities provided as part of the School Enhancement Programme. These included a new Music Block, Dining Hall, Business and IT Classrooms, Multi Purpose Rooms, Learning Support and Toilet Facilities. The Dining Hall was constructed as part of the phased works and involved the demolition of an existing toilet block and the integration of external courtyard to form Multi Purpose Rooms which can be used as part of the Dining Area or closed off and 1st floor classrooms.

The new Music Block was approved by the Planning Service on condition that it was retained as part of the new facade. This proved impractical as the facade was unsafe and it eventually had to be demolished. A new facade was constructed incorporated most of the original features including the demolished brickwork which was bedded in lime mortar with coal dust. External stonework was milled back to remove paint or replaced where necessary.
